Hello, everyone! Today, I am using our platform to put out a very urgent appeal for a greyhound who is very close to my heart: Misty. I feel very lucky to say that I have walked Misty every Sunday, for the last eighteen months, as a volunteer at The Cinnamon Trust. This is a charity that helps elderly people who can no longer walk their dogs anymore. It is with a very heavy heart that I have recently discovered Misty’s owner has been admitted to hospital and can no longer take care of her; therefore, this poor girl is back in her adoption kennels, after years of experiencing a loving home, where she was very much adored.

Misty is a sweet-natured, chilled out girl, who is 11 years-old, but doesn’t necessarily act like it. She still really enjoys her walkies and had a spring in her step each time I would arrive at the front door! She got on very well with our laid-back male greyhound, Niko, and lapped up our affection towards her. She is a very loyal girl and will be a very dedicated companion to her next owner. We know that there is a beautiful home out there for her, to see her through her twilight years, and she still has so much love to give. It breaks our hearts to think of her waiting in the adoption kennels, particularly at her age, after being in a home for such a long time.

Misty’s new home would ideally be a fairly chilled out environment, with no young children or young, bouncy greyhounds. She could live on her own or with another relaxed greyhound. Also, this home would need to be on the ground floor – devastatingly for us, this is the reason why we cannot adopt her (we live in a second-floor flat and two flights of stairs would not be suitable for her over the coming years). Otherwise, she would be at home with us now – safe and loved forever. Honestly, she isn’t asking for very much – only a short walk each day and a nice, warm bed. Is that so much to ask for, at the age of 11?

If you would like more information about Misty, please contact us through our Contact Page. She is currently residing in the Dunton area, Essex. However, I am certain that her adoption kennels would likely consider a home further afield than Essex, if it was the right one for her.
Please share this poor girl’s story. Thank you.
Until next time…
Love and snoot kisses,
Berry x
