Special Appeals

Special Appeal for Immy!

Hello lovely people! Today, I am using this platform for a very important cause – to find a fabulous snoot, called Immy, her forever home! This beautiful brindle girl has been in her fantastic foster home now for a number of months and sadly, despite two previous appeals, she has still not found the forever family that she so deserves… So, today, we have inteviewed the gorgeous Immy (with the help of her foster mumma, of course!) in the hopes that we can spread her story far and wide, so that her waiting humans out there can find her.

Over to this sweet noodlehorse, Immy, to tell you everything you need to know about why she could be the perfect pet for you…

Beautiful Immy x

How old are you and how long have you been waiting for your forever home?
I am 3.5 human years old and I have been waiting for my forever home since January 2020. This might not seem like a super long time but, in doggy-terms, this is over 11 years of my dog life!

What are your favourite things to do?
Wowza! There are so many things that I simply adore to do now that I am out of kennel life! I love roaching against windows, walking my humans to the treat cupboard (just in case they forget where it is), carrying my empty food bowl around after lunch and cheekily playing finders-keepers with my humans’ shoes!

Like my food bowl trick?

What is your favourite food?
Oh my… well, I have such an awesome appetite! I love scumptious sardines, ostrich bones and beef tails… (I also accept food payment in chips, pizza crust, bread and anything that looks tasty – I told you I could be cheeky!).

Treat time?

How would you describe your personality?
I am super confident, always ready for an adventure, but I also LOVE to snuggle down on my bed whilst you are working or relaxing near me.

What do you think about humans?
I just love humans! I love the ones with treaties the most. I will often come over and lay my head on your lap, for just a quick “hello” and then will retreat back to my bed. You are more than welcome to sit on my bed with me and give me more strokes. I also love playing with humans! I can do fun zoomies when you touch my front paws – my foster mumma says they are like a power switch!

What about little humans… children?
Well, another reason why I am so awesome is that I am so gentle with little humans, and they are also welcome to sit on my bed with me. I have lived in my foster home with a 6 year-old and a 10 year-old tiny human and I have really enjoyed their company.

Have you made many doggy friends who are not greyhounds? (Remember that greyhounds in kennels have usually only ever known other sighthounds until they are adopted!)
Oh, yeah! I am so proud of myself, because when I first left the kennels, honestly, I thought other breeds were snacks, but now I have learnt that they are just like me – loving doggos! I love to stop and say “hi” to all doggos on my walks. I have even made friends with the smallest of puppies. I have friends of so many breeds now, including a Toy Poodle (Lewis), French Bulldog (Nero) and a West Highland Terrier (Milo). My foster humans are so proud of me!

Is there anything that you would need your forever family to work on with you?
I have been told that I am the perfect pooch; however, there is just one thing I need some patience with… I cannot help but get very excited in new surroundings and so, in these situations, I pull on the lead. That is okay though, because there are lots of techniques and tools to help us both with that and my foster family would be happy to advise on those. I really hope this does not put off my forever family, because I have made such good progress already!

Beautiful Immy x

What are you like at bedtime?
At bed time, I get super excited to sleep on my bed in the humans’ bedroom. I like getting super cosy and sleep all the way through the night. I snooze all the way until 7am.

Are you a good girl with going to the toilet?
My foster humans are very proud of me as I have had ZERO accidents in the house and their carpet is still the colour it is supposed to be. They take me out for regular breaks if it is too warm or if I have become too excited, so I am super-duper easy like that.

What would your perfect forever family be like?
My perfect forever family would be loving and loyal, just like me. They would also need to have enough patience for me to get better on the lead in new places, a good grip of the lead and an occasionally stern voice would help. As long as I am a part of their adventures, I would be happy forever.

Wow – what a snootiful greyhound indeed! Thank you so much for taking the time to ready sweet Immy’s special appeal. Now, we ask you to please share her story! Her forever home is definitely out there – we just have to find it! For more information about this stunning girl, please reach out to us through our Contact Page.

Immy is currently living in her foster home in London, with her rehoming kennels being based in Essex. However, forever homes further afield can be considered!

Until next time…

Love and snoot kisses,

Berry x
