Adopting a Greyhound, Special Appeals

Black Beauties in need of Forever Families!

Hello, everyone! Thank you all so much for the overwhelming response to my previous post, about the plight of black greyhounds within the dog adoption process. I cannot believe the number of you who felt compelled to share your own stories on social media and spread the word about the beauty of black greyhounds! Thank you.

As volunteers, my husband and I regularly walk many black greyhounds and have helped with their journeys in finding their forever homes through fostering. Our local greyhound adoption kennels currently has 44 greyhounds in its care, who are waiting to be adopted, and (shockingly) a staggering 36 of these sweet souls are black greyhounds! Some of these sweethearts have been waiting for a long time and we believe that this could be due to the “black dog phenomenon”, as I discussed in my previous post. So, today, I want to use this platform to promote some of these stunning pooches and encourage you to get in contact if you think that you could offer one of these beauties a loving home.

Introducing…

4 year-old Tommy

3 year-old Indie

4 year-old Magic

2 year-old Melo

4 year-old Pat

3 year-old Aliza

2 year-old Cartwright

If you think that you could offer any of these darling snoots a happy home, as they all truly deserve, or would like more information and an opportunity to meet them, please email me by clicking here or get in contact through our Contact Page.

Also, you can ring the RGOA kennels directly any day between 10am-1pm on 01277 373691. The RGOA kennels are based in Brentwood, Essex, on the outskirts of London and will consider adoption applications from further afield, providing the home is the right fit for the hound!

Thank you for your support!

Until next time…

Love and snoot kisses,

Berry x

  1. It’s so sad to see so many black greyhounds in kennels especially if they get overlooked because of their colour. Hopefully people will think twice about choosing dogs on their colours rather than the personalities that stand out 🙂 i would be lost without my black snoot x
